My work involved analysing district budget proposals and comparing the proposed scope with conditions discussed in meetings and observed on site. A budget amount is one part of that record; the location, responsible agency and proposed work provide the context.
The two appointments covered eight district offices. The public proceedings below describe the subcommittees’ work; my CV records my individual role and review scope.

From the review to a public tool
Budget review involves reading across files. I built Budget Close to Home as a related, separate project to search records and return to source pages. Its 50-district data coverage is broader than the eight district offices I analysed in this role.
The design choice was to keep each search result connected to the evidence needed to check it: the agency, location, document and page.
